With four arms per stratum (reference arm retained throughout), only the single treatment arm demonstrating the highest proportion of favorable outcomes at the first stage will proceed to the second stage in each stratum, resulting in a final comparison with the reference arm. Three prognostic covariates of age, geographic region and reperfusion interventions, as well as previously observed mRS 0-2 responses inform the adaptive randomization procedure. Participants randomized receive prespecified mobility training regimens (functional task-specific), provided by physiotherapists/nurses until discharge or 14 days. Interventions replace usual mobility training. Fifty hospitals in seven countries (Australia, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Brazil, Singapore) are expected to participate. Summary: Our novel adaptive trial design will evaluate a wider variety of mobility regimes than a traditional two-arm design. The data-driven adaptions during the trial will enable a more efficient evaluation to determine the optimal early mobility intervention for patients with mild and moderate ischemic stroke.]]> Wed 28 Feb 2024 15:05:25 AEDT ]]> A roadmap for research in post-stroke fatigue: Consensus-based core recommendations from the third Stroke Recovery and Rehabilitation Roundtable https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54154 Wed 28 Feb 2024 15:02:37 AEDT ]]> Elements of power: Material-political entanglements in Australia's fossil fuel hegemony https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:53780 Wed 28 Feb 2024 14:45:11 AEDT ]]> Chasing the Concrete Dragon: China’s Urban Landscapes in Skate Video https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50463 Wed 26 Jul 2023 14:17:32 AEST ]]> Intentional Teaching for Risky Play: Practitioner Researchers Move Beyond Their Comfort Zones https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:52739 Wed 25 Oct 2023 08:34:12 AEDT ]]> Equity in the Classroom and the Clinic: Understanding the Role of Sociology in Health Professional Education https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:47117 Wed 22 Mar 2023 18:27:45 AEDT ]]> Are all complainants of sexual assault vulnerable? This review reports on this data, with non-randomised study data reported in supplemental material. Post -intervention relaxation was associated with medium to large effect-size improvement for depression, anxiety, stress and fatigue. The effects of relaxation were superior to wait-list or no treatment control conditions; however, comparisons with established psychological or physical therapies were mixed. Individual studies reported sustained effects (≤ 6 months) with relaxation for stress, pain and quality of life. Most studies were rated as having a high/serious risk of bias. Conclusion: There is emerging evidence that relaxation therapies can improve outcomes for persons with multiple sclerosis. The methodology aligned with the James Lind Alliance priority setting process, which involved oversight by a co-design advisory committee and utilised a national online interim priority setting survey and co-design workshops to identify the top 10 research and translation priorities. Results: The initial national consultations elicited 1210 issues from 480 individuals. From this, 606 participants shortlisted 59 plain language questions in order of personal priority. In total, 16 questions were consistently ranked as important. As a final step, 24 individuals (with equal representation from all 4 stakeholder groups) attended the final prioritisation workshop to co-establish the top 10 research and translation priorities. Conclusion: The findings highlight the need for people with a lived experience, carers, health professionals and researchers to work collaboratively to develop co-designed research and translation activities that address the key areas of early intervention, prevention, understanding the aetiology of eating disorders and effective treatment of people experiencing eating disorders.]]> Thu 02 Nov 2023 09:55:42 AEDT ]]> Climate Change, Business, and Society: Building Relevance in Time and Space https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:48228 Sat 11 Mar 2023 12:44:08 AEDT ]]> Association between poor sleep for infants to two years and subsequent mental health symptoms: A systematic review and meta-analysis https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45782 Sat 05 Nov 2022 12:35:02 AEDT ]]> Is post-traumatic stress disorder a risk factor for development of opioid use disorder among individuals with chronic non-cancer pain?
